Housing assignment: Bouvardia South Physical appearance: For being Death, Death actually looks nothing like the popular Grim Reaper archetype. Standing at five feet, six inches, Death could easily be mistaken for any number of 20-something gothics. Her skin is pale and her black hair is usually worn shoulder-length. She has an average weight and a somewhat athletic build. Her defining physical feature would be the Eye of Horus around her right eye. (She modified it by adding an inward curl to the end of it, however). She usually wears black jeans and a black sleeveless top, but has a few dresses on hand in case she has a party to go to. She also has a large collection of floppy hats, which she wears on occasion. An ankh necklace usually hangs around her neck, prominently in view. Personality: Again, Death isn't as mean or depressed as a lot of myths like to paint her as. Having lead countless people to the afterlife (as well as meeting them when they were born/created), as well as the day she gets to live as a human (to help her appreciate her job) has noticeably mellowed her out. She's upbeat, outgoing and enjoys observing the world around her. She's also matronly, and likes to encourage people. (And her brother, Dream, when he's around). She can be harsh when she needs to be, but usually doesn't see the point, unless dealing with specific family members. History: Death (or Teleute as she was called in Greece) has existed outside of time, along with the other Endless. At first she lived up to the Grim Reaper archetype and had a very bleak outlook on life, as well as her job. After a few centuries and seeing how humanity progressed, she reasoned that they weren't all bad, which helped bring the change in her outlook. Living in her realm (a grass field with a simple house in the middle of it) except when called to meetings with her family, Death exists to escort the dead to the afterlife and keep them company during the walk. She also meets with every person as they're born, though they usually forget her within the first year or two. Her family are called the Endless- each one representing physical manifestations of ideas. Her younger sister, Delirium, often calls her "Elder Sister". Her sister-brother Desire (as Desire has no true gender and can switch at will) doesn't really agree with some of Death's ideas about humanity and life, but for the sake of civility, Death's refrained from beating him into the ground during meetings. She's threatened it, however, and Desire knows not to push her. For the first dozen centuries, Death continued on her job of guiding people to the afterlife when it was their time to go, and things went normally. She'd take her day as a human (always as a human who was supposed to die that day anyway, as Death doesn't fully support possession) to appreciate things (and discovered she was quite fond of cab rides and bagels), and the cycle would continue. Things were going well until she got a brochure for Poseidon Academy. After reviewing it a few dozen times and checking things, she realized that there were more than a few people who were supposed to be long gone, but who weren't. Curious, and wondering how a nexus worked outside of her own realm, Death set about enrolling as a college student, with a major in communications. Making sure her two fish were packed, as well as a few of her hats, Death headed for the school, intent on learning and observing as much as she could. Sexual orientation: Neutral/Straight. Death is too busy with her job to entertain the idea of sex, though if she weren't (and if she had a need for sex), she would sleep with a man. | |||||||||
