Weird Science (the song, but the movie's okay too) is really the wrong song to have on while I'm trying to cook. I keep expecting things to start moving on their own, or a 1980s Danny Elfman to show up and stare at everything. Snow and Ikea would pobably end up hiding if he did. Well, Ikea's not as skittish around strangers, but Snow's still getting used to the idea.

Bath day was.. well, the usual. A lot of fighting, a lot of running, but two clean cats at the end of it. Snow was in shock and spent most of the rest of her afternoon avoiding me (well, until dinner), and I think Ikea was trying to console her, because he left some of his food in his dish and meowed at me when I tried to move it.
Young love's great like that. <3
I need to double check on a few things before the day's out. |

Soba is pretty awesome. :D I should've saved some for the cats, but I didn't think to. Oh well. Huh, it's Friday.. Tommorrow's bath day, which means I need to see if I have enough shampoo. I don't want to get the cats in the tub and end up running out. :/ |

Spring's.. well, getting here slowly, I guess. But spring's spring. Snow and Ikea are still getting along, even though Snow's taken to watching Ikea's food bowl when it's meal time. :/ I don't think she's eating his share, though, probably just judging it. She also really loves the cat nip mouse I bought her. Ikea got a cat nip toy couch and after giving me a disbelieving look, started to play with it.
I'm just waiting for him to invent the game "hide the couch behind the couch". At least nobody's heard that he likes stereos or anything.

Snow and Ikea have had their vaccinations for the next few months, and Snow's now sporting a collar and ID tag. I keep reminding myself that I have more than one cat, and Ikea's back to spending a good amount of time grooming and strutting around. Oh, that reminds me- I need to go buy some more cat food and a few toys later. |

Ikea's girlfriend has been given a new name- Snowbank, or just "Snow". I was watching the news last night, there was a report about snowbanks and she pawed at the screen and then gave me a really confused look. Snow and Ikea.. Hm. It doesn't blend together like Ikea and Rooms to Go or something, but it doesn't have to. I should make an appointment with the vet- she probably needs her shots, and a set of tags couldn't hurt either of them. Ikea's not going to be thrilled with the visit, but he'll get over it. |

Ikea's girlfriend keeps coming around, and I haven't seen any missing cat posters, so I'll be heading to Petsmart and picking up a few more cat items here. Hm. I can't keep calling her "Ikea's girlfriend", but I can't think of a name for her either. :(
Maybe they'll have a cat naming book or something. I bet they'll be full of cute names like "Miss Snuggles" or "Professor Cuddly".
Actually, Professor Cuddly would be a cute name for a teacher's pet. Too bad I'm not a teacher. :( |

That explains why Ikea's been preening so often. It turns out he's found a girlfriend! She doesn't have a collar, but she seems used to humans (well, you know.) since she walked up to me without hesitating too much. If nobody claims her by next week, I'll take her in. |

...You know, I can kinda forgive fictional tv shows. It's fiction, and to keep things interesting, crazy stuff has to happen.
But honestly, they've been on that island off and on for 4 years now. You'd think after the 3rd person is abducted by smoke, they'd learn to keep away from it.
Eraserhead is easier to understand than this show sometimes, I swear. |

Ikea apparently really likes this show's theme song. I didn't think he'd meow along to it, but there you go. At least he stopped once the actual episode came on- I don't think Jerry Orbach would have appreciated his lines being drowned out by a cat.
Animals are so keen sometimes. :D Anyway, there's a mini marathon of "Law and Order", so apologies if you wanted to watch TV or something, Tenshi. You can join me if you want (and if you can stand Ikea probably using you as a pillow). |

Tenshi- watch Ikea for me. He shouldn't be hard to care for, just play with him when he asks, pet him and feed him twice a day. I shouldn't be gone for very long. Thanks in advance, I owe you coffee or lunch.
I guess this is just another form of work. Right. If anyone needs me, I won't be here. I've got something I need to do. Pearl, do you want to come along? I'm preparing to leave now, but don't feel rushed. You'll need a jacket and a good pair of walking shoes for this.

Hm.. That'll be enough of a gift, I think.
Ikea's found that he enjoys eating snow! And by "eating" I mean getting it stuck to his face. He looks like an old man- Old Man Ikea, I should get him a custom knitted scarf with that on it. My trip home went well (that'd be why I've been so quiet) and Slim and Wadsworth now have a spiffy gingerbread house for their tank.
Speaking of gingerbread, I'm going to make some! :D |

This show- "Hoarders"- is really depressing. And coming from me, that says something. I'm usually not depressed, but this show is really helping me get there. :(

Ikea's turkey induced coma finally wore off. Nothing drives the point home that your cat's awake like that cat pouncing onto your feet. Luckily he didn't damage anything in the landing, but a little warning would've been nice.

Or "did go", since I went earlier and found my costume. It's going to be something trying to corkscrew curl my hair, but I should be able to handle it. Ikea's going as a captain, and he actually seemed pretty happy about the idea. He was strutting around, at least.

If I've learned one thing over my time, it's that random carousel music can either be creepy or oddly entertaining. To Bradbury, they were apparently creepy enough to put into his book Something wicked this way Comes, but that was a different carousel. Most of them don't let you rewind time and become younger, or go forward and die quicker.
Luckily, nobody's been able to make that happen. It'd be a lot of extra work, and the universe doesn't operate that way regardless of the thing being built.
And with that random bit of knowledge, I'm going to collect Ikea and go watch some tv for a while. He could stand the break between the rounds of "Ask Tele a question every 5 minutes but then ignore her when she goes to answer". :p |
